As you know how you brain organizes time, you can use this do get rid of negative emotions connected with events from your past or with those which will happen in the future.
The sense of guilt is a useless state, you can’t change something that happened but you can easily get rid of the sense of guilt.
Think about the event which took part in the past and which is connected with your sense of guilt.
Stand in one place so that nothing disturbs you and imagine that on the floor there is a line of your past.
Determine on this line the distance between you and this event and remember it.
Now, turn round and begin to gradually retreat to the place in your past where this experience is located. When you reach this place, stop for a while and then move back to one hour before this event, one day, one week, month...
Leave this place far behind you so that you don’t have the sense of guilt. For you this event become again a future one, so that you don’t feel guilty.
Descend from your time line and return to the initial position. Look at the location of that event and try to feel that guilt.
It has disappeared, hasn’t it?
This technique which is analogous to the previous one can be used to get rid of a fear connected with the event that will happen in the future.
Think about a future event which makes you feel fear.
Imagine a line running into the future that stretches in front of you.
Determine the place in which the event you think of is present.
Start going toward this event, stop for a while in its place and go further, now you are half an hour after it (one day later, a week later, a month...).
Pay attention to how well you feel now, and what kind of nice feelings exchanged the old one.
Descend from your time line and return to the initial position. From this place look at your future and compare your feelings linked with the situation that will take place.
And that’s all. It may seem too fast and too simple but the NLP is simple and easy, and what’s more important it does work!
